A West Yorkshire couple ignored years of marriage tradition on their wedding day by opting for a three-tier pork pie instead of a cake.Joanne Robinson, 39, suggested the special treat for fiance Stuart Booth - a founder member of the Ripponden-based Pork Pie Appreciation Society. The resulting 50lb "wedding growler" was served to guests at their big day in Huddersfield on Saturday. Butcher Simon Haigh said it was the strangest request he had ever had. Good for a laugh but tbh pork pies are kinda nasty imo. Certainly not what i want to be eating instead of some l33t caek |

![]() Agence France Presse has sued Google, alleging the Web search leader includes AFP's photos, news headlines and stories on its news site without permission. The French news service is seeking damages of at least $17.5 million and an order barring Google News from displaying AFP photographs, news headlines or story leads, according to the suit filed on Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. AFP sells subscriptions to its content and does not provide it free. Google News gathers photos and news stories from around the Web and posts them on its news site, which is free to users. "Without AFP's authorization, defendant is continuously and willfully reproducing and publicly displaying AFP's photographs, headlines and story leads on its Google News web pages," AFP charged in its lawsuit. Maybe i shouldn't be blatently copying and pasting from Reuters then

| Intel dual core may play games slower? | |

CURRENT GAMES don't care much about multithreading and dual core processing. That's the biggest problem that Intel has to face now at the dawn of its dual core CPU generation. Intel's soon to be announced Smithfield is going to work at 3.2 GHz only and even though it will have two cores it will eventually end up slower for gaming. Most of today's games engines don't have any kind of support for dual core processing and won't benefit much from the second core We strongly believe that Intel will work hard with game developers to ensure that future games will end up with support for dual core as we are sure that if you program it right you will be able to use the second core for some of the operations. I bet that Intel is pushing developers to take benefit of the second core as we speak. tbh, this seems stupid. Its really only gamers that buy high end chips, so it would seem stupid to introduce a $1000 chip designed for office/multi threading apps under a gaming brand scheme (they are planning a "EE" type chip according to http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=21929 ) I think this is a huge step backwards untill the game devs start to utilize the extra core, and lets face it, hyperthreading has been around for ages and i don't think there is any game out there that supports it. |

Hell has not frozen over yet, but it very well may.According to sources who have so far filed accurate reports on Apple's future hardware plans, the company is feverishly working on a two-button wireless optical mouse that it intends to release. Apple enthusiasts have longed for an Apple-branded two-button mouse for over a decade, but their requests have gone unanswered. So what has changed? According to sources, 'it's the company." With Apple now profiting from low-priced consumer electronics as it makes a push to reclaim market share from Windows, a two-button mouse is 'almost an essential,' sources said. It's unclear when the computer maker plans to introduce the mouse. Insiders warned that anticipation may continue to build for months as the company perfects the product. Apple has just recently reduced the price of its wired mouse to $29 and its wireless optical mouse to $59. The two-button wireless optical mouse would likely debut at the $69 price point once reserved for the company's current wireless mouse. "Jaws will drop," said one insider. |
